We are an oasis in the centre of North Sydney, inviting you to share with us our commitment to protecting and caring for the environment and respecting the dignity of all persons.

Mary MacKillop Place is also the venue for the Conference Dinner and a short walk to the conference site at ACU Campus.


Birches Serviced Apartments are located at 160 Simpson Street, East Melbourne with 24 beautifully appointed and spacious apartments. Each apartment offer a kitchen, wireless internet service, SECURE on-site parking at a small additional fee of $18 per night.

Our apartments have been designed with comfort and convenience in mind. Offering 5 wide categories of rooms, namely the Standard Queen Bed Apartments, the Standard Twin Apartments, the Deluxe Queen Apartments, the Boutique Apartment, and the Accessible Wheelchair Apartment.


Our modern and spacious North Sydney corporate apartments are located on the cusp of North Sydney’s CBD. Which makes it a little quieter than being at the heart; whilst still being conveniently close to the corporate hub of Berry, Walker and Miller Streets. After a long day, enjoy the many cafes, parks, restaurants and sporting clubs within the surrounding area. Everything you need for a relaxing extended stay in Sydney is never too far when you choose to stay at Astra Apartments.

Great shopping and restaurants in Mount St, Blues Point Road, and Greenwood Plaza are just a short stroll away. Also within the vicinity are a number of pubs and clubs and a diverse range of cafes and restaurants in Crows Nest and Kirribilli. North Sydney train station is a 7-minute stroll from your door and bus stops are even closer. If you wish to go to the city, taxis are easily available and the journey takes less than 10 minutes.
