Join us for a afternoon tour to explore the stunning Noosa Hinterland.
Leaving RACV Noosa at 1pm, we travel via Tewantin to the charming hinterland town of Cooroy.
Our first destination is the stunning Noosa Botanic Gardens at Lake Macdonald, 5 minutes from the heart of Cooroy. You’ll enjoy a tour of the gardens lead by Cath Manuel, visit the beautiful ‘Shade Garden’ and enjoy views of the Lake Macdonald from the well known amphitheater.
Our next stop is Cooroy Community Gardens, managed by Permaculture Noosa. We’ll stroll through the gardens and enjoy a provided afternoon tea in the newly constructed pavilion with Permaculture Noosa members.
Then relax on the drive back to RACV.

Meeting at RACV Noosa at 9.45 for a 10am departure, the first stop for the group will be to Beerwah to visit a 25 Acre veterans respite facility where Will from ‘Dig In’ runs the Paddock to Plate workshops (a 4-day gardening and nutrition workshop for veterans). The workshop is a veteran led program, designed by veterans for veterans. It aims to support veterans living with both mental and physical health challenges relating to their military service. The focus of the program is to provide veterans with the knowledge and skills, using permaculture principles and clinical dietetics, to design and implement sustainable growing systems in their own home, as well as make informed dietary choices to improve their general well-being.
Heading to the next stop for lunch, the group will visit the Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve comprises 55 hectares of subtropical rainforest overlooking the Glass House Mountains National Landscape. A remnant of the rainforests that once covered the Blackall Range, the Reserve is a living museum of diverse plant and animal life which will delight with its tranquility and beauty. Complete the 2km walk (approx. 1.25hr), explore the rainforest discovery centre or rest and enjoy cuppa and a lunch with a view at the Mountain View Café. For those that don't wish to walk ......
Last stop on the tour will be to Woombye to explore EndED’s ‘Garden of Hope’ – a therapeutic garden used to support those in eating disorder recover & other MH programs. The Garden of Hope includes park like spaces, rainforest walk, water features and more recently an Indigenous native edible garden with various meeting areas. Hear from the founder, Mark Forbes, about the journey of the House of Hope garden design and why it is so important to those in recovery.
Returning to RACV Noosa for a 4.30pm drop off.
